In the suffocating darkness of a remote mining town, an ancient evil stirs beneath the coal seams, hungry for flesh. When a college student stumbles upon the grisly aftermath of a brutal attack, she teams up with a bitter, reclusive ex-miner who knows more than he lets on. Together, they must unearth the creature’s grisly origin buried deep in the town’s toxic past. As the body count rises and the tunnels echo with scraping claws, every shovelful of truth brings them closer to a horrifying revelation that could seal their fates forever. The deeper they dig, the harder it is to breathe—and the closer they get to the black lung rising.
