Five old college friends, haunted by a tragic past, embark on a hiking trip through the remote, ancient forests of Sweden to honor their fallen comrade. But what begins as a journey of remembrance spirals into a nightmare as they find themselves lost in a vast, primeval wilderness that seems to have a will of its own. Strange symbols carved into trees and the haunting sound of something moving just beyond the treeline unnerve them, and as the group fractures under paranoia and fear, they realize they are not alone. An ancient, malevolent presence stalks them, and each step deeper into the woods leads them further from safety, into the heart of darkness itself.

“I went in expecting a typical creature feature, but this movie is so much more. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and the Swedish forest becomes a character in itself. The acting felt raw and authentic, and the ancient horror they uncover gave me chills. Definitely worth a watch for fans of slow-burn terror.”
“The first half is a solid survival thriller, but the second half loses its way. The creature design is unique, but the movie shifts from realism to fantasy too abruptly. The characters' poor decisions frustrated me. It has its moments, but overall, it didn't live up to the hype for me.”
“For me, this is one of the most underrated horror films of 2017. The sense of hopelessness and the slowly unraveling friendship kept me on edge. The ancient Nordic mythology woven into the story is fascinating, and the final reveal was both weird and horrifying. I loved every minute of it.”
“There's some beautifully eerie cinematography and a genuinely creepy atmosphere, but the scares are few and far between. The plot has some interesting ideas, but the execution felt uneven. I appreciated the attempt at character depth, but some of the dialogue fell flat. It's a decent watch, but not something I'd rush to see again.”
