In a cozy neighborhood, Sarah ran a small daycare from her home. One sunny afternoon, after the children had enjoyed their lunch, a commotion arose in the hallway. Lily, a curious four-year-old, burst into the living room with wide eyes.

“There’s a ghost in the hallway!” she exclaimed, her voice a mix of excitement and fear. “It’s a little girl, and she was chasing me! I ran away, and then she stopped!”

Intrigued, Sarah knelt down to Lily’s level. “What was the little girl like?” she asked gently.

Lily thought for a moment. “She had long hair and a pretty dress. But then, I saw a man outside, too!” Her expression shifted to one of concern.

“What’s the man’s name?” Sarah inquired, feeling a chill run down her spine.

“His name is Arthur!” Lily replied matter-of-factly. Sarah’s heart raced; a few months prior, she had learned that a man named Arthur had lived in her house long ago. She had never mentioned him to the children.

Lily continued, her imagination running wild. “And there’s a lady with him! They were about to dance!” She twirled around the room, mimicking the couple’s movements, her small hands reaching out as if inviting someone invisible to join her.

Sarah exchanged glances with the other children, who were now gathered around, listening intently. They had all felt something strange in the house, but hearing Lily speak so vividly about the figures made it all the more real.

As the day went on, Sarah found herself pondering the stories Lily shared. She had never believed in ghosts, but the way the little girl spoke with such certainty made her wonder. It was as if the past was peeking through the veil of time, reminding them that some memories linger long after the people have gone.

Later that evening, Sarah tucked the children into bed, her mind still swirling with thoughts of Lily’s encounters. As she switched off the lights, a soft breeze swept through the room, sending a shiver down her spine. Perhaps, just perhaps, there were invisible friends watching over them, dancing in the twilight of their memories.
