Twenty years after the brutal murder of their parents, siblings Ben and Ashley are drawn back to their childhood home by a shared, unspoken terror. The cause of that long-ago tragedy was no ordinary killer, but a gaunt, shadowy entity known only as The Rake, a creature that thrives on fear and memory. As they sift through the decaying remnants of their past, the siblings realize that the monstrosity they fled as children has been waiting patiently, its presence woven into every nightmare and half-remembered scream. Now, with night falling and the whispers beginning again, they must confront the truth that some griefs are not buried, but simply biding their time, ready to pull the living into the dark.
