In the heart of modern-day New York, a ninety-eight-year-old woman lies on her deathbed, her final breaths a whisper of secrets. As her granddaughter dutifully cleans the cluttered apartment, she uncovers a crumbling manuscript—a story titled ‘Blooming Flowers’ written in her grandmother’s trembling hand. It recounts a 1935 journalistic expedition to a remote, forgotten village nestled deep within the mountains, where the air was thick with superstition and the soil drank blood. There, the young reporter witnesses a blooming festival that awakens something ancient and ravenous, blurring the line between floral beauty and decay. Drawn into a narrative of creeping dread and unresolved terror, the granddaughter realizes the past is not buried—it blooms anew with every page she turns.
