In the neon-drenched underbelly of modern Los Angeles, ‘Portraits’ weaves a seductive and macabre tale of obsession and immortality. A struggling burlesque dancer becomes entranced by a mysterious, ethereal photographer whose art captures more than just beauty—it preserves a haunting darkness. As their relationship deepens, she uncovers a chilling connection to Victorian death photography and an ancient, vampiric hunger that blurs the line between love and predation. Every frame hides a secret, and every portrait demands a sacrifice in this stylish, eerie reimagining of Carmilla, where desire becomes a lethal art form.
