It was a typical Thursday morning, just past dawn. Clara was nestled under her cozy blanket, her back pressed against the wall. The soft glow from her alarm clock caught her eye, revealing it was 7:00 AM. With a heavy sigh, she decided to steal a few more moments of sleep, relishing the warmth of her bed.

Suddenly, she was jolted awake by a voice that seemed to come from the shadows of her room. “Clara,” it called softly, carrying an air of longing. Heart racing, she squeezed her eyes shut, whispering, “Please go away.” To her shock, the voice responded, tinged with sorrow, “I suppose I must leave now.”

A wave of grief washed over Clara, leaving her unsettled. She tried to shake it off and drift back to sleep, but the unease lingered in the air. The rest of the day passed quietly, but the morning’s encounter weighed on her mind.

Later that afternoon, while chatting with her friend Sophie over coffee, Clara recounted the strange experience. Just as she spoke about the voice, she felt a gentle tug at her hair as if someone was playfully pulling at it. Turning to Sophie, she laughed nervously, asking whoever it was to stop. The sensation ceased immediately, but an odd energy remained in the room.

Moments later, a soft tapping echoed from the living room. Clara’s heart raced again as she exchanged worried glances with Sophie. They both knew the house was empty. With a cautious step, Clara walked towards the sound, her mind racing with possibilities. Was it just her imagination, or was someone—something—still lingering in the corners of her home, longing for connection? In that moment, she realized some visitors are not easily forgotten, even if they remain unseen.
