In 1695, a young maiden, Johanne Nilsdotter, meets a brutal end in the bottomless pits of Djupkista waters, accused of witchcraft by her terrified persecutors. Her death ignites a curse that plunges the Dunderland valley into a centuries-long nightmare of inexplicable tragedies and creeping dread. Three hundred years later, aspiring theater director Laura arrives in the valley, drawn by its haunting beauty, unaware of the malevolent force that still lurks beneath its serene surface. As she digs into the region’s dark past, the line between folklore and reality blurs, and the sins of the past demand their due.
