In this chilling reimagining of the 1980 cult classic, Frank Khalfoun plunges us into the tormented psyche of a mannequin shop owner whose repressed desires spiral into a bloody obsession. As he becomes infatuated with a young artist, his fragile grip on reality frays, and his collection of lifelike figures takes on a sinister new purpose. Filmed almost entirely from the killer’s perspective, Maniac is an unflinching descent into madness that blurs the line between desire and destruction, leaving you breathless and disturbed.

GoreHound93 – 7/10
“I've seen a lot of horror, but this one really got under my skin. The POV shots made me feel like I was the one doing the killing, which was super intense. Elijah Wood was surprisingly creepy, and the mannequin vibe was the perfect amount of eerie. Not perfect, but definitely a wild ride.”
ScaryFan88 – 5/10
“I appreciate what they tried to do with the first-person perspective, but it got a bit repetitive for me. The atmosphere was great, and Wood's performance was solid, but the story felt thin and I wasn't scared as much as I wanted to be. Decent if you're a fan of the original, but not a must-see.”
HorrorMomma – 6/10
“This remake is a mixed bag. On one hand, the cinematography and the soundtrack are amazing, really setting a creepy mood. On the other, the plot drags in places, and the gore might be too much for some. I liked it, but I didn't love it. It's a solid watch for hardcore horror fans.”
NightShiftSteve – 8/10
“I was blown away by how immersive this was. Watching everything from the killer's eyes was a bold choice that really paid off. Elijah Wood's transformation into a disturbed mannequin restorer is frighteningly good. The final act is pure nightmare fuel. Highly recommended for those who want something different.”
