My name is Leo Carson, and I’m 15 now. This story goes back to when I was about 4 years old, but it stays clear in my mind for some reason. I was at my aunt’s farmhouse, playing quietly in the attic with my toy cars. The sun was shining through a small window, and the dust danced in the light.

Suddenly, I noticed a dark shape in the corner of the attic. It was distinct and still, not fading or shifting. It looked like a tall figure wearing a wide-brimmed hat. I felt a chill run through me, and before I could call for anyone, the figure stepped back and vanished through the wall.

I screamed, and my aunt rushed up the stairs with a worried look. When I told her about the figure, she listened intently, then shared a story of her own. She explained that their farmhouse was built on land where a battle had once raged during a war a long time ago. My uncle had mentioned seeing a soldier in the yard late at night, a shadowy presence that seemed to linger near the old barn.

Curious, I later asked my grandfather about the history of the place. He told me about the battles fought and the lives lost, including a young boy who had wandered too close to the conflict. My heart raced as I realized that the figure I saw might have been linked to those events, a remnant of the past still lingering in our present.
