One evening, Sarah was at home by herself, her parents having gone out for a dinner. As she walked from the kitchen to the living room, she noticed a small figure standing next to her cat, Luna. The figure was a boy, no older than six, gently petting Luna, who seemed completely at ease. The boy wore a bright red cap and had a curious smile. When Sarah blinked, he vanished, leaving Luna staring at the empty space.

A few days later, her friend Alice came over to hang out. They were chatting in the living room when Alice suddenly paused, her eyes wide. “Did you see that?” she asked. Sarah looked confused. “See what?” Alice explained that while they were talking, she had seen a little boy in a red cap appear briefly by the window before disappearing again.

Sarah’s house was newly built, so she found it hard to believe it could be haunted. She later discovered that the land had once been home to an old playground where children used to gather. The thought that a child’s spirit might linger lingered in her mind, leaving her both puzzled and intrigued.
