In the unnerving 2014 chiller “The Human Virus,” director Tim Altonen traps a routine land-surveying crew in a waking nightmare when their remote job site becomes a hunting ground for a clan of feral, possibly infected campers. Paranoia festers faster than any contagion as the team realizes their radios are dead, the forest hides more than trees, and every shadow might be a rabid stalker. With each encounter, the line between sickness and savagery blurs, forcing the surveyors to question who—or what—is truly a threat. A tense, claustrophobic descent into madness where the real virus may be human nature itself.
