We moved into our new home in September 2020. The house was built in the early 1990s and had been partially remodeled. While the new flooring looked good, it constantly snapped and cracked due to improper installation. For the first few weeks, these noises would wake me and our Yorkie, making me get up and look around. But I soon realized they were just house noises.
One November morning, I was up early, typing about one of my visitations, with my back to the small dining room and kitchen. I heard an odd noise coming from the kitchen. My wife had warned me not to bring spirit activity into our new home, so I was a little on edge. The noise sounded like metal clanking.
I got up and walked into the kitchen, following the sound to the sink. I moved some dishes around but found nothing. The next morning, I checked under the sink and found two holes and mouse droppings. I set snap traps and caught two mice in one week. My wife sent me out for steel wool to block the holes.
A few days later, I heard a new noise echoing along the wood floors early in the morning. I snuck into the kitchen and found the noise was coming from the sink area again. I realized a mouse was trying to chew a new hole into the cabinet floor. I opened the cabinet door, yelled at the mouse, and slammed the door shut. The next morning, I set a trap and caught the mouse.
After Thanksgiving, I was cleaning up after breakfast on a bright morning. I was in the kitchen, with daylight sparkling off the floors. As I was standing where our fridge should have been, I heard my wife’s footsteps approaching. I looked down to avoid a collision and saw a black V-shaped figure materialize in front of me. It was slightly billowing and had a hop to it. I saw a black mouse at the point of the V, pushing a protective shield as it scurried towards me. The mouse and the V-shaped shield disappeared at my feet.
I asked my wife if she saw it, but she hadn’t been looking down. If I hadn’t been looking, I would have missed the sighting. A spirit mouse with a protective shield was an amazing sight.
Since then, I bought a live trap to catch and release the mice. In late December, my wife found a mouse had gotten into our lazy Susan cabinet and chewed into a bag of rice. We cleaned the cabinet and found our old salt and pepper shakers shaped like a man and woman mouse dressed in 1600s clothing. They’re now on the counter as a reminder.
As of now, no more mice have been found in our house, but I constantly look at the floor. Many of my sightings have happened after breakfast, when I’m at the right vibration. Thanks for reading. Good luck out there.
