At sixteen, I went with my friend Clara to her aunt’s old house. She seemed nervous about the visit but wouldn’t explain why. We slept in the guest room, and late that night, I heard a faint voice speak my name. My heart jumped. No one in that house knew me.

I climbed out of bed and went to the hallway, where the sound seemed to drift from. I found nothing but shadows. A little unsettled, I returned to the room and decided to look outside.

There, in the moonlit garden, stood a small boy. His clothes were torn and dirty. He looked right at me and whispered, ‘Please find me.’ I stepped back from the glass and quickly woke Clara. Before I could speak, she looked at me with wide eyes and asked if I had seen the boy. She told me he appears every time she visits, always asking for help.
