Lately, I have been having strange waking dreams. The first one was the most unsettling, though I am sure it was more than just a dream.
I rose from my mattress. The whole room was bathed in a soft, greenish glow. It was the middle of the night. Two of my friends were asleep on the floor, but I had chosen my own bed for comfort. I stood up and walked toward the door without looking back. I thought I should go and sleep with the others for company.
Suddenly, a powerful presence wrapped around me and pulled me backward onto the bed. I felt a gentle pressure moving across my shoulders and back. I could see slender, pale hands, and the sensation was deeply calming. Then, I felt a soft breath against the side of my neck. I woke up lying exactly where I had fallen back. I know it felt real.
The next time it occurred, I was alone in my room. I had been reading about these kinds of experiences, which made me nervous.
