A few years back, my friend Lucas and I found ourselves exploring an old, rundown farmhouse on the outskirts of town. It was a Saturday afternoon, and the sun hung high in the sky. Bored and seeking adventure, we decided to capture the haunting beauty of the place through our cameras.
While Lucas ventured inside to investigate the rooms, I remained outside to adjust the settings on my camera tripod. As I was focusing the lens, a large bird swooped overhead, catching my attention. I quickly raised my camera to follow it, but just as it passed, I noticed something peculiar on the roof of the house.
Through the viewfinder, I could make out a dark silhouette perched atop the building. Confused, I lowered the camera to look directly at the house, but to my surprise, the figure had vanished. I brought the camera back up, and there it was again, distinct and unmoving. My heart raced as I snapped a few photos, then called for Lucas to step outside.
He emerged, curious about my excitement. I urged him to grab his video camera and point it toward where I was aiming. I was certain he would want to see what I had captured. As he set up, I felt a mix of thrill and dread, wondering what we might uncover together in this forgotten place.
