This happened a few years ago when my family moved into a new house in a quiet little town. I was in middle school at the time, probably around seventh grade. It was winter, and I was upstairs in the loft area, just hanging out on the couch. The only light came from my phone screen because it was already late—maybe around 10 p.m.
I was watching videos about history, something I was really into back then. Everything was normal until I started feeling… weird. Like someone was watching me. You know that feeling when the hairs on your neck stand up? That’s what it was like. The feeling was coming from the small window just above me.
I hesitated, then slowly looked up.
There was a face staring at me. A man’s face.
His skin had a pale bluish tint, and he was a little see-through. He had a wide grin, almost too wide, showing all his teeth. His eyes were bloodshot—so red that they stood out even in the dim light. His head was bald in some places, and his neck looked… messed up. Like it had been injured or operated on many times. It was slightly bent, like his head wasn’t sitting right on his shoulders.
At first, I couldn’t even process what I was seeing. I just sat there frozen. But as soon as my brain caught up, I scrambled off the couch, backing toward the door. That’s when his head tilted to the side, and his grin stretched even wider—almost reaching his ears.
Then he started floating away from the window.
I thought maybe it was over, but when I glanced at the next window a few feet away, he was still there, drifting past, watching me the whole time. I didn’t dare look out the big window behind the couch—I just bolted to my room, shut the door, and stayed under the covers until morning.
I never told my parents. They’re both very logical people, all about science and facts. They wouldn’t have believed me. But I know what I saw, and to this day, I still get nervous sitting near windows at night.
