For as long as I can remember, I have felt a presence in the dim corners of rooms. They became more active last winter. Just yesterday, I noticed four or five dark shapes sliding quickly along the ceiling. I blinked, thinking my eyes were tired, but then a dozen more gathered near the doorway.

It was unsettling. I searched online and found forums where people described similar experiences with beings they called the ‘Silent Ones’. Many have reported encounters, and the stories seem to be increasing. I don’t know what they are, but their presence is unnerving.

My roommate and I managed to record some of this activity on our phones three nights ago. I won’t share the footage yet; I need to understand it better first. They don’t appear to be dangerous, but they enjoy creating a sense of unease. I don’t believe they are spirits or monsters. I just know I am not alone in seeing them. Perhaps one day, you might notice them too.
