Strange Sounds in the House

Lila and her husband, Tom, were preparing for a family outing when they heard a soft voice call out to them from the hallway. They exchanged puzzled glances, but there was no one in sight. This wasn’t the first time they had experienced something unusual. Often, they would hear faint voices or their names being called, only to find themselves alone.

One afternoon, while Lila and the kids were out, Tom relaxed on the couch. Suddenly, he heard Lila’s voice clearly asking for his help. Thinking she was calling for him from the kitchen, he rushed in, but found it empty. Confused, he sat back down, wondering if he was imagining things.

Later that evening, their daughter Mia was taking a bath when she swore she heard someone say, “It’s time to get out.” She looked around, but the bathroom was silent. She felt a chill despite the warm water.

These strange occurrences became a topic of conversation at dinner. Lila laughed about it, recounting how the family cat, Jasper, would often stare at empty corners, seemingly watching something invisible. Tom joked that they might be haunted, but deep down, Lila wondered if there was something more mysterious at play, or if their minds were simply playing tricks on them.

Despite the odd happenings, the family continued their daily lives, keeping an open mind about the voices that seemed to linger in their home. They shared stories and laughter, finding comfort in each other’s company, even when faced with the unknown.
