In the heart of the outback, just a few hours from the nearest town, lay a secluded camping ground known as Red Rock. It was my final night on a week-long adventure with friends, and we were preparing for the long ride back to our hometown of Silver Creek, over 400 kilometers away. The clock struck 2:00 AM when a sudden scream pierced the stillness of the night. “What on earth was that?” I wondered, as I and a few fellow campers rushed towards the source of the sound—the old bathroom block, a good distance away.

As we arrived, we found a man standing there, visibly shaken, his face as white as a freshly fallen snow. He was staring at the fogged-up mirror, and upon closer inspection, we saw words scrawled across the surface: “Beware, the night holds secrets that may claim you.” The man claimed he was alone, that no one else had entered the restroom before him, yet the chill in the air grew heavier.

Someone suggested it was just a prank, but doubt lingered among us. We couldn’t shake the feeling that something strange was afoot, especially since Red Rock was known for its eerie legends—stories of lost souls and unexplained happenings told around campfires. As we debated the message, the lights flickered, and an inexplicable gust of wind swept through the building, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Suddenly, the mirror began to clear, and we all leaned closer. Reflected behind us was not just our own startled faces, but a shadowy figure lingering in the doorway. Panic surged through the group, and we bolted, racing back to our tents, hearts pounding. We spent the rest of the night huddled together, sharing stories and trying to forget what we had seen.

As dawn broke, the sun illuminated the landscape, and the fear of the night began to fade. But the mystery of the message lingered in our minds. We packed up our gear, ready to leave Red Rock behind, but deep down, we knew we had uncovered something that would stay with us forever—a secret hidden beneath the stars, waiting for the next curious soul to stumble upon it.
