Last autumn, a man decided to drive home late at night after visiting family. It was close to midnight, and the road was quiet. His loyal dog sat silently behind him.
The road was empty and dark, and he kept the radio on to stay alert. Suddenly, he felt a chill down his arm—then up through his neck. His dog began growling low, then barked fiercely.
Worried, the man adjusted his rearview mirror to check on his dog—and that’s when he saw it: a shadowy shape sitting beside the dog in the backseat. It was darker than everything around it. He rubbed his eyes—just to be sure—but the shape remained. The dog wouldn’t stop growling.
The man stared at the figure in the mirror, frozen with fear. After a long moment, he turned back to the road—and when he looked again at the mirror, the seat was empty. The presence had vanished without a trace.
