I noticed a strange, cloud-like energy between us

A few years ago, on a sunny afternoon, I was in my front yard when I noticed my neighbor across the street. He was retired and younger than me. He shouted a compliment about my yard, so I walked over to his driveway.

We chatted about the industrial construction nearby, and he mentioned having mice in his house. He told me he had caught one using sticky traps in a cluttered room. As we talked, I noticed a strange, cloud-like energy between us. It distorted the colors around us and had a pixelated appearance, moving slowly like someone walking.

I didn’t say anything, but the phenomenon returned and hovered right in front of my face for a few seconds. It felt like it was trying to get my attention. I struggled with this experience and decided to ask my neighbor if he saw it too.

On Halloween, I gathered the courage to knock on his door. He answered, a bit irritated, and I asked if he noticed anything strange last time we talked. He said no and joked that I sounded crazy, reminding me it was Halloween. I felt embarrassed but relieved to have asked.

This encounter has stayed with me, and I still wonder what it was.
