My uncle passed away a few years ago after falling late at night. He hit his head against the edge of a door and never woke up. He had never talked about what happens after death—he didn’t believe in ghosts, heaven, or anything like that. But he loved his house. He had built it himself and lived there for nearly 30 years. It was his pride, even when he got older and wasn’t as strong as before. His passing was sudden. No warning. No goodbyes.

At his funeral, I read some verses from a book of prayers. The room was silent, and then—out of nowhere—there was a loud popping sound from the ceiling. It wasn’t just a creak like old houses make. It was sharp, almost like a knock. Right then, I had a feeling he was still there, watching.

After the funeral, whenever I visited his house, I would hear strange noises—soft taps, clicks, thuds. Always at night when everything was quiet. At first, I thought it was just the house settling. But it kept happening. It felt like he was still walking around.

A few years later, I installed security cameras in the house. That’s when things got weirder. The sounds returned, but now I could see strange white shapes on the footage—fast-moving orbs that zipped across the rooms. Some of them even seemed to have a face. It was clear—he hadn’t left. The house had become haunted.

I tried speaking to him, telling him to move on. My family wanted to sell the house, but I wasn’t sure that was a good idea. Who would want to buy a place where the old owner never really left? Maybe someone who didn’t mind ghosts, but they’d have to know what they were getting into.

We’ve tried everything—prayers, rituals, even asking him directly to go. But he was always stubborn in life, and now, it seems, he’s a stubborn ghost too. I don’t know if he’s trapped or just refuses to leave.

I’ll keep trying. But something tells me he’s not going anywhere.
