When journalist Ingrid Hoffman reluctantly returns to her ancestral home after a series of brutal child murders in the surrounding woods, she finds herself plunged into a nightmare of ancient folklore and buried secrets. The villagers whisper of the Winter Witch, a spectral figure from local legend, but as Ingrid and her daughter Eleanor dig deeper, they discover that the truth is far more sinister and personal than they ever imagined. With her estranged grandmother Omi as their only guide, the trio must confront a curse that has haunted their bloodline for generations, facing the terrifying reality that the past is not as dead as they believed. As the snow falls and the forest closes in, Ingrid must unravel the mystery before the Winter Witch claims another victim—and before the darkness within her own family consumes them all.
