In 1997’s unsettling chiller ‘The Parasite’, Charles Sadler’s life spirals into nightmare as he loses command of his own body, turning violent in horrifying ways. Meanwhile, Dr. John Wilson, a parapsychologist basking in academic glory, clashes with his skeptical protégé, Dr. Richard Austin. Their tense dynamic erupts when Wilson introduces Austin to a mysterious visitor at a party, setting the stage for a descent into psychological terror. As the lines between reality and possession blur, the film probes the darkest corners of the mind, where an insidious force may lurk not outside, but within. A forgotten gem for those who relish slow-burning dread and the unsettling fragility of human control.
