When Copenhagen schoolteacher Julie flees her cheating boyfriend for a remote Norwegian island, she hopes to find peace among the fjords and pine forests. Instead, she finds herself an outsider in a tight-knit community that greets her with polite smiles and cold stares. As she digs beneath the surface of the island’s picture-perfect facade, she uncovers a web of buried sins and whispered threats that tighten around her like a fog. The more she learns, the more she realizes that some secrets refuse to stay drowned, and that the island’s true darkness is far more suffocating than any city betrayal. Can she unravel the truth before the tides pull her under?
