In this offbeat Brazilian horror-comedy, the beloved Jeca is caught between a wealthy widow’s relentless pursuit and his wife’s terrifying transformation into a vessel for the Devil himself. A direct response to the global phenomenon of ‘The Exorcist’, Mazzaropi’s unique blend of rural slapstick and supernatural dread creates an eerie yet oddly charming atmosphere. As Jeca’s simple life spirals into chaos, he must outwit both earthly temptations and demonic possession, leading to a climax that is as unsettling as it is absurdly funny. A cult classic that proves hell hath no fury like a woman scorned—or a demon possessing your spouse.

GoreHound77 – 7/10
“I wasn't sure what to expect from a Brazilian Exorcist riff, but this one has a strange charm. The mix of slapstick and possession is odd, yet it works. Some genuinely creepy moments, though the comedy might undercut the horror for some.”
ScaryFan88 – 5/10
“This is more of a curiosity than a full-on horror experience. The acting is over-the-top, and the plot feels disjointed. I appreciated the historical context, but it didn't scare me. It's more of a campy oddity.”
CineQueer – 8/10
“I loved the eccentricity of this movie. Mazzaropi is a hoot, and the juxtaposition of rural comedy with demonic themes is refreshing. The special effects are dated but add to the vintage charm. A hidden gem for B-movie lovers.”
HorrorNerd90 – 6/10
“It's an interesting piece of cinema history, but it's not particularly terrifying. The wife's possession scenes are decent, but the romance subplot feels unnecessary. Still, it's a fun watch if you're into obscure cult movies.”
