In a decaying medieval town ravaged by an unending plague of rats, the weary citizens are willing to pay any price for deliverance. When a mysterious piper arrives with a hypnotic tune that lures the vermin away, his payment is cruelly denied, and he unleashes a revenge that is far more chilling than any rat bite. Jirí Barta’s stop-motion masterpiece blends shadowy Expressionist visuals with a haunting original score, crafting an eerie, allegorical fairy tale where no one escapes the consequences of broken promises.

User Reviews
GothicNightmare – 8/10
“Barta's visuals are stunningly dark and textured; it feels like a nightmare brought to life. The lack of dialogue made it even more atmospheric. A must-watch for fans of surreal animation.”
RatKing – 7/10
“The stop-motion is incredibly detailed, but the slow pace might test some viewers. Still, the unsettling atmosphere and the twist on the Pied Piper legend really stayed with me.”
PuppetMaster – 9/10
“A beautifully grotesque piece of art. The character designs and the way the rats are animated gave me chills. It's not a typical horror, but it creeps under your skin and stays there.”
ScreaminSteve – 6/10
“I appreciate the craftsmanship, but the story felt a bit too ambiguous for my taste. The atmosphere does all the heavy lifting, but I wish there was more narrative depth. Still, it's an interesting watch.”
