Detroit, 1997. A group of friends gather in a decaying house to screen a recently deceased occultist’s final film, unaware that the reel is a doorway to a nightmare. As the projector whirs, the line between cinema and reality dissolves, and the friends realize they’re not just watching a horror movie—they’re trapped inside it. With each scene, the terror becomes more personal, and escape seems impossible. A love letter to analog horror, Hellmare is a suffocating descent into madness that will haunt you long after the credits roll.

User Reviews
CelluloidTerror – 9/10
“The atmosphere is absolutely dripping with dread. I felt like I was right there in that dusty living room, holding my breath as the film within the film unspooled. The climax is a gut punch I won't forget.”
GhoulNextDoor – 10/10
“This is the first movie in a long time that genuinely scared me. The way it plays with the idea of found footage and movie magic is brilliant, and the sound design is pure nightmare fuel. A must-see for horror nuts.”
VHS_Nightmare – 8/10
“I loved the 90s setting and the nods to classic horror. The first half is a slow burn, but once the madness kicks in, it's relentless. Some may find it too bleak, but for me, it's exactly what I want from a modern horror.”
MidnightScreens – 9/10
“The performances feel so genuine that I forgot I was watching a movie. The director crafts an oppressive vibe that never lets up. I had to pause it halfway through because I was so tense. Easily one of the scariest films I've seen in years.”
