Helena and Renato flee the suffocating city for a secluded beach house, hoping to escape the shadows of Helena’s disturbing visions. But their refuge turns into a nightmare as the very essence of their new home begins to rebel—televisions crackle with static, radios whisper secrets, and appliances hum with malevolent intent. As Helena’s sanity unravels, Renato is torn between protecting her and questioning his own reality. Excitação (1976) is a slow-burning psychological horror that blurs the line between madness and the supernatural, where the silence of isolation becomes a breeding ground for terror.

User Reviews
RetroScreamQueen – 7/10
“I loved the eerie atmosphere and the way the house felt like a character itself. The acting was solid, and the tension built nicely, though the pacing dragged a bit in the middle. That final scene still creeps me out.”
GialloGuru – 6/10
“As a fan of 70s Italian horror, I appreciated the visual style and the unsettling sound design. But the plot felt a bit too familiar, and the twist didn't hit as hard as I hoped. Still, worth a watch for the vibe.”
HorrorHound77 – 5/10
“I wanted to like this more, but the characters were too annoying, and the scares were more psychological than actual jumps. The ending was confusing and left me unsatisfied. Maybe it's better if you're into slow burns.”
MidnightMovieMaven – 8/10
“This one really got under my skin. The isolation and the descent into madness are portrayed with such authenticity. The sound design is terrifying, and the ambiguous ending left me thinking for days. Highly recommended for those who love psychological horror.”
