Pauline, a brilliant but deeply disturbed high school senior, dreams of becoming a surgeon. But her obsession with blood and gore, coupled with her strained relationship with her domineering mother, pushes her down a dark and increasingly unstable path. As her delusions intensify, Pauline’s quest for approval spirals into a macabre obsession, blurring the line between calculated ambition and horrifying madness. A cringe-inducing journey into the psyche of a young woman who will stop at nothing to achieve her twisted vision of perfection, Excision is a provocative and unsettling horror-drama that lingers long after the credits roll.

“I went in expecting a grindhouse gorefest, but this is more of a psychological slow-burn. The body horror is there, but it's the awkward, cringeworthy portrayal of Pauline that really got under my skin. Definitely not for everyone, but I found it refreshingly weird.”

ScaryFan885/10

“I appreciated the bold concept, but for me it fell flat. The tone is all over the place, and while AnnaLynne McCord gives a fearless performance, the story just didn't hold my interest. Some shocking visuals, but overall I was left feeling unsatisfied.”

MomOfThree8/10

“This one really hit me on a primal level. As a mother, the mother-daughter dynamic was terrifying in a way that resonated more than any monster movie. It's twisted and uncomfortable, but also strangely touching. I'll be thinking about this one for a long time.”

“A mixed bag. The dream sequences are beautifully grotesque, and the final scene is truly shocking. But the pacing was off, and I felt like the supporting characters were just cardboard cutouts. It's original enough to be worth a watch, but don't expect a masterpiece.”
