When governess Julia arrives at a secluded country estate to care for young Silvia, she finds the girl disturbingly serene and deeply attached to a stone sculpture in the garden. As the household’s secrets surface, Julia realizes that Silvia’s imaginary friend may be something far more sinister. The oppressive atmosphere and slow-building dread make this a classic of Mexican horror, where the true terror lies not in what is seen, but in what whispers from the shadows.

User Reviews
SilentObserver – 8/10
“The atmosphere is thick with dread from the start. The performances, especially the little girl's, are unsettlingly convincing. If you appreciate subtle, psychological horror over jump scares, this is a must-watch.”
CinemaNostalgia – 7/10
“A beautifully shot film that relies on mood rather than gore. The ending left me thinking for days. Some pacing issues in the middle, but the payoff is worth it.”
ChillsAndThrills – 6/10
“I can see why it's a cult classic, but for me, it dragged a bit. The creepy moments are effective, but I wished for more scares. Still, a solid piece of horror history.”
Horror_afficionado – 9/10
“This film got under my skin. The way it builds unease with whispers and looks is masterful. One of the best supernatural horrors I've seen from the 60s, with a chillingly ambiguous finale.”
