Burnt-out detective Jack Fox is on the brink of forced retirement, his sanity frayed by years on the force, when a new nightmare erupts in the fog-drenched streets of Salem. A killer, more sinister than Boston’s infamous Strangler, begins a ritualistic spree, leaving a trail of cryptic clues that only Fox seems to understand. Enter rookie detective Steve Ryan, who arrives with his family seeking a fresh start, only to be thrust into a darkness that threatens to consume them all. Torn between escape and obsession, Fox must decide whether to guide Ryan through this labyrinth of terror or surrender to the shadows that call to him.
