In 2007, Lanre Sarumi’s ‘Banana Leaves’ lures three thrill-seeking friends into a narcotic abyss where reality unravels. As they ingest the fabled hallucinogen, the jungle around them breathes with malevolent spirits, each conjured from the darkest corners of their shared past. Paranoia festers as the boundaries between memory and nightmare dissolve, forcing them to confront sins they thought buried. With every dose, the leaves whisper deeper secrets, tightening a noose of dread that snaps shut in a shocking, mind-bending finale. A taut psychological horror that proves some doors should never be opened.
