Unseen Forces in the Shadows

In a small town in Oregon, I had a few unusual encounters. One incident occurred during a family gathering. My sister invited her friends, Mia and Jasmine, over for dinner. That evening, we reminisced about a beloved family member who had recently passed. As my sister went to fetch dessert from the pantry, she opened the door and paused for a moment. Suddenly, a series of books tumbled from the shelf, landing in a chaotic heap on the floor. Strangely, the covers of the books were torn, while the pages remained intact, as if something had deliberately chosen which part to damage.

A few weeks later, in early January, I experienced something even stranger. I was settled on the couch, watching television, when I felt a gentle tug on my sleeve. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but the sensation persisted. I glanced around the room and saw nothing unusual. Gathering my courage, I turned back to the screen, only to find the remote had mysteriously moved a few feet away, as if someone had nudged it just out of reach. My heart raced as I realized I was not alone in the room, though no one else was there.
