Hi, my name is Emily, and I’ve lived in my house for about three or four years now. Time flies! I’ve always been sensitive to spirits, and I know there are two in my house who mean no harm. Initially, I thought they were just echoes of the past, like memories. But recently, I realized they are interactive.
One evening, my husband was in the front room while I was nursing our baby in the nursery. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure move from the kitchen to the hallway leading to the baby’s room. I felt a presence and turned to look. My husband came into the room just as my nursing chair, which swivels, moved slightly. I was sitting with my knees up, so it couldn’t have been me. That’s when I knew the spirits in our house were more than just memories.
I’m pretty sure I know who the spirits are. In the 90s, the owner of the house passed away here, and I believe his wife is here too. The house was built in the 50s, and I find the whole thing fascinating since I’ve always been sensitive to spirits.
A few months ago, something eerie happened, but I had another experience just an hour or two ago. I went fishing with my brothers, leaving my wife at home with our son. She was microwaving dinner and went to check on the baby. When the food was done, she opened the microwave, and the kitchen fuse blew. This had never happened before, even when using the oven and microwave together.
Then, she called her mom to chat. During the conversation, she thought she heard her dad say something, so she greeted him. Her mom paused and said, “Who are you talking to? Dad’s not home.”
Later, she was in our son’s room nursing him. It was dark and calm when she heard what sounded like a rock hitting the window. A minute later, she saw a dark wisp of air move from the crib to the wall where the window is. Out of caution, she armed the alarm system.
When I finished fishing, I called to tell her I was 20 minutes away. While I was outside pulling the trash to the curb, she saw the same wisp of air pass in front of her in the family room. She was freaked out but didn’t sense any danger.
I’m actually a bit jealous because I’ve only seen shapes moving in the hallway towards our kids’ room. Despite the unsettling events, we both find it fascinating and continue to embrace the presence of our friendly spirits.
