I don’t know if this connects to anything that happened before, but it’s happening right now. As I write this, it’s 3:13 in the afternoon, and something isn’t right.

There’s knocking on my doors. Over and over. No one is there.

Earlier, I went outside to gather wood from a tree that had fallen in the last big storm. I was stacking it so it could dry out. That’s when I heard it.

Whistling.

At first, I thought maybe the wind was playing tricks on me. But then I realized—this wasn’t far away. It was close. Too close. Maybe twenty feet.

I live on private land, deep in the woods. There’s a wall marking the edge of the property. No one comes back here except me and my family. But the whistling? That wasn’t one of us.

I dropped the wood right there and went back inside.

Now, the knocking won’t stop.

I know it’s broad daylight, but something about this feels wrong. I’m not scared exactly, just… unsettled. I’ve heard whistling in the woods before, but it was always distant. Easy to ignore. This time, it was like someone was right behind me.

I keep checking the windows, but I don’t see anyone. I don’t think I’ll be stepping outside for the rest of the day. The eclipse is happening, but I’ll just watch it online.

And I’m not opening the door. Not for anything.
