Leo and his friend Sam were exploring the old attic. The only light came from a small, dusty window. Leo hid behind a large wooden trunk, waiting to jump out.

He saw a tall, thin shape move past a bookcase to his left. The air suddenly felt chilly. Leo thought it was Sam trying to sneak up on him, so he stayed quiet, ready to surprise him.

Then, a loud crash came from directly behind the trunk. Leo spun around. Sam was there, crouching low. He had knocked over a stack of old boxes.

Sam whispered that he had also seen a tall, dark shape near the window just a moment before. The window was locked from the inside, and the attic door was still closed. Nothing could have come in or gone out.
