I have always believed there is more to this world than we can see. Two months ago, something happened that confirmed it for me.
I work in a small office attached to a large manufacturing plant. Our women’s restroom is in a separate building, a short walk from the main office. It has two doors: a heavy outer door and a lighter inner one. For privacy, we always lock the outer door behind us.
One afternoon, I went in as usual. I locked the outer door securely and then the inner one. I had just settled in when a dark shape flashed past the gap under the door. It moved with impossible speed, a blur of darkness that was gone in an instant.
My breath caught in my throat. I froze, my mind racing. This was no trick of the light. I felt a cold dread wash over me.
I could no longer concentrate on why I was there. I quickly got dressed and fled, not stopping until I was back at my desk. I tried to act normal, but my heart was pounding against my ribs. I never went back to that restroom alone again.
