The Library After Hours

My name is Leo, and I never believed in the supernatural. One afternoon, my classmates were sharing stories about strange happenings in their homes. I found it all silly, so I went to the library to find some quiet.

As I browsed the history section, I heard a soft humming. I asked if anyone was there, but the sound just stopped. I thought it was odd, but I went back to my book.

That evening, I was reading about local legends on my tablet. Suddenly, I felt a cold spot on my shoulder, like a patch of winter air. I turned, expecting to see my cat, but the room was empty. I kept reading, feeling a little nervous.

Then, I felt a gentle pressure on the cushion next to me, as if someone had sat down. The lamp flickered for a moment. I told myself it couldn’t be anything, because such things aren’t real.

I was startled when my mom came in to say goodnight. She saw my wide eyes and asked if I was okay. I told her I’d just read something surprising.
