I was walking home from the college library with my friend Sam. We take a shortcut through the park, which has a small hill that dips down to a gap in the old stone wall. My apartment building is just on the other side.
We were almost at the base of the hill when I saw someone standing at the top. At first I thought it was a teenager, but the way they stood was strange. Their lower body was partly hidden by the curve of the land from my angle.
The person wore a dark blue hooded jacket and brown trousers. Their hands were very white. As we got nearer, they spun around quickly and vanished over the crest of the hill. The ground was still covered in old snow from the big storms last week.
