The Encounter from the Past

As a child, I often found comfort in the tales my grandmother told me about our family history. One evening, she brought out an old trunk filled with forgotten treasures. Among them were faded photographs of my ancestors, dressed in clothes from a different time. One portrait caught my eye: a solemn man in a military uniform standing proudly amidst the backdrop of a battlefield.

That night, I lay in bed, unable to shake the image of the man from my mind. Suddenly, I felt a chill sweep through my room, and it was as if the air had thickened around me. I sat up, heart racing, and to my astonishment, I saw the figure of the man from the photograph standing at the foot of my bed.
