Strange Happenings at Home

After moving into their new home six months ago, Clara and James began to notice odd occurrences that they couldn’t explain. Clara had always considered herself a realist, but the strange happenings were starting to test her beliefs.

It began with subtle things. James would often mention hearing footsteps in the hallway late at night, claiming he thought Clara was wandering around. But each time, she was fast asleep beside him. On a Saturday, Clara went out for a day with friends, and while she was gone, James was certain he heard her laughing in the kitchen. He got up to join her, only to find the room empty.

One evening, Clara returned from grocery shopping to find the living room lights flickering. She was sure she had turned them off before leaving. It was unsettling, but she brushed it off. However, as days passed, the disturbances became more frequent. A cabinet door would swing open on its own, and Clara would find her favorite mug mysteriously relocated to the counter.

Then there was the night when James awoke with a jolt, convinced someone had poked him in the ribs. He thought it was Clara playing a prank, but when he turned to her side, she was still sound asleep. Their little dog, Max, was curled up at the foot of the bed, oblivious to the commotion.

Both Clara and James tried to rationalize the strange events. Was it just their imagination? Or was there something more mysterious at play? As the weeks passed, they debated whether they should reach out for help or simply accept their home was a little different than they had anticipated.

Despite the unease, Clara found herself growing curious. What if they were sharing their space with a presence? As they settled further into their home, they decided to embrace the oddities, hoping that through understanding, they might find some peace with whatever was lingering in the shadows.
