We stayed at my mother’s house for the night. My husband and our four young kids were already asleep on the floor in the living room. I was still awake, trying to drift off when I saw something strange down the hallway. It looked like a woman made of mist, slowly moving toward the living room. I tried to convince myself that I was just tired, but she kept getting closer.
As she entered the living room, I started to panic and shook my husband to wake him. Our baby girl was lying next to us on her back. The closer this misty figure came, the more terrified I became. I yelled my husband’s name, and just as he woke up, our daughter started sliding across the floor as if something was pulling her by the leg. My husband leapt up and grabbed her just before she reached the hallway. We spent the rest of the night wide awake, holding our kids close.
That house always had an eerie feel and strange things happened there. Our three-year-old daughter would wake up in the middle of the night and play with her “friends.” We’d hear her talking and see her running on the baby monitor, followed by three little shadows on the wall. She even told us her friends were dead and wanted her to go with them. When we asked where they went, she pointed to the closet in the back bedroom and said, “They go in here.”
