It was a warm summer day, and I was in my room, minding my own business. My parents were at work and had asked me to keep an eye on the yard. My older brother was in the living room watching TV. I was reading a story on the computer when I suddenly felt my chair being pulled. I almost fell out of it but managed to stay seated. I looked around, but no one was there. No one could have entered my room without passing by me, as my door was right next to my computer.
I shrugged it off and continued reading. Moments later, I felt a sharp tug on my hair. It hurt, and I screamed. It takes a lot to make me scream. I looked around again, but there was no one there. I glanced out the window and saw some goats in the yard. They weren’t supposed to be there, so I told my brother. I didn’t mention what had happened to me because I knew he wouldn’t believe his 14-year-old sister. He went outside and chased the goats away.
Despite the strange occurrences, I always felt an odd yet safe presence in my room. It was as if something or someone was watching over me. I guess I’ll never know what really happened that day, but it left me with a sense of wonder and curiosity about the unseen forces around us.
