One late night around 2:00 AM, I was wide awake in the living room, sipping some juice to quench my thirst. My two cats, Max and Luna, were lounging nearby on the couch. After a few minutes, I heard a tapping noise by the door. At first, I thought it was just my imagination playing tricks on me.
But the tapping continued, and I couldn’t ignore it. Curious, I decided to check it out, with Max following closely behind. I paused and peered around, but there was no one there—just the staircase, the door, and my cat slowly descending the steps. When Max reached the bottom, he sniffed around and then hurried into the basement. I figured he was heading to the litter box, so I went back to bed, not giving it much more thought.
Two days later, I was texting my friend, who had recently moved to a new place but still lived nearby. She mentioned that her previous house had a couple of ghosts. When I told her about the tapping by my door, she looked shocked and said the same thing had happened to her that same night around the same time. I was baffled. Was there some kind of ghostly connection? We discussed it for hours but couldn’t figure it out and eventually went to bed.
That night, after our conversation, I started having strange dreams. Each dream featured a girl named Emily. She had light brown hair, wore a pink dress with flowers, and had scratches on her face. At the end of every dream, she always said, “Remember me.” It was eerie and left me feeling unsettled.
About two months after the initial tapping, Emily vanished from my dreams. But four weeks ago, she returned, looking more scared and with more scratches. I was completely bewildered. I believe Emily might be the ghost of a young girl who died tragically and is trying to communicate with me through my dreams. But it’s just a guess.
What do you think about this? What should I do about Emily?
