A Light in the Attic

This is a story passed down through generations, one that has always struck a chord in our family. It happened in Willow Creek, Indiana, where my grandmother, Clara, grew up. She was named after her beloved grandmother, whom I never met but heard countless stories about. During Clara’s teenage years, her grandmother fell gravely ill, suffering from an ailment that no one could quite understand.
