In this gritty, unrelenting Italian horror gem, a corrupt chemical company’s toxic waste seeps into a city zoo’s water supply, turning its innocent inhabitants into deranged, bloodthirsty killers. As the animals break free, the streets become a nightmarish hunting ground where man is no longer at the top of the food chain. Director Franco Prosperi crafts a tense, chaotic atmosphere that blurs the line between human cruelty and animal instinct, delivering a visceral critique of environmental negligence. With its relentless pace and shocking practical effects, ‘Wild Beasts’ is a cult classic that preys on primal fears and the horror of nature unleashed.
