As the body count rises, Park Ranger Lloyd Kaufman, a weathered guardian of the woods, joins forces with Sheriff Joe Bob Briggs, a pragmatic lawman, to hunt down what they believe is a rogue bear. But the eerie silence of the forest and the unnatural ferocity of the killings hint at something far darker lurking between the trees. When the park is abruptly shuttered, a group of free-spirited hippies is forced to pack up and search for a new haven, unaware that the true terror is not confined to the boundaries of the park. Their quest for peace becomes a desperate flight for survival as the line between predator and prey blurs in the relentless, suffocating stillness of the night.
