In the parched French countryside, Virginie’s locust farm is on the brink of collapse, her family’s livelihood teetering with each failed harvest. But when a gruesome accident reveals that blood—not feed—makes her swarms thrive, she crosses a terrifying line. What begins as a desperate act of survival spirals into a chilling obsession, as she feeds the insects with a sinister secret to keep her business alive. As the creatures grow ravenous and uncontrollable, Virginie’s grip on sanity slips, and the swarm becomes a monstrous manifestation of her darkest instincts. A slow-burn ecological horror that crawls under your skin, The Swarm is a haunting tale of maternal desperation and the monstrous lengths we go to protect what we love.
